The app

Nothing you dictate is ever collected, stored, or used to train anything. Speech recognition and transcript cleanup both run on your Mac. Your audio, your transcripts, and the text Lekton types for you never leave the machine, because there is no code in the app that could send them.

To recognise names and technical words correctly, Lekton reads the visible text of the app you are dictating into. That text is used for that one dictation and discarded. It is never written to disk, never transmitted, and password fields are always skipped.

Your dictation history and the words Lekton learns are stored on your Mac, in your user account, so you can copy something again later. Deleting the app removes them.

What the app sends over the network

Exactly two things, both downloads, neither containing anything you said:

1. The optional Pro Voice model. If you choose to install it, the files are fetched from model.erasmuslabs.ai. A one-way download, the same shape as any software update.
2. Update checks. Once a day the app asks lekton.erasmuslabs.ai whether a newer version exists. Sparkle, the updater we use, is able to attach your Mac model, CPU and operating system version to that request. We have turned that off.

Both requests reach our server the way any web request does, which means our server logs record an IP address and a timestamp. We use those only to count downloads and to keep the service running, and we do not combine them with anything else. If you never install Pro Voice and never let it check for updates, Lekton makes no network requests at all.

Analytics

There are none. The app contains no analytics SDK, no telemetry, no crash reporter and no tracking of any kind. If that ever changes it will cover the app's own health — crashes, whether a feature was used — never a transcript or any part of one, and the switch to turn it off will ship the same day it does.

If you give us your email

The form on our home page is optional and is not required to download or use Lekton. If you use it, we store your email address, the date, and which form it came from. Nothing else — not your IP, not a user agent, not a tracking pixel.

We send one email asking you to confirm the address. If you never click it, we never send you anything again — an unconfirmed address is not a mailing list.

We use it to send you your free unlock code if Pro Voice is ever priced for new installs — anyone who downloaded it before then keeps it — and to send the occasional update about Lekton. That is all. We will never sell it or share it with anyone.

Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and it deletes your address rather than flagging it — we keep no record of people who asked to be forgotten. You can also ask us to remove it at any time by writing to [email protected], and you may ask what we hold about you, which will be that one row.

Children

Lekton is a developer tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we will say so on this page with a new date, and — if we have your email because you asked us to keep you posted — we will tell you directly rather than quietly editing the page.
